Polarization
Bosnia was made up of many different groups. But for simplicity there area is made up of two groups, the Serbs and the non-Serbs, comprised of Muslims and Croats. The Serbs were set out to ethnically cleans the non-Serbs. They never directly used laws to split the groups, but there was a bunch of propaganda used.
Propaganda was used on both sides. Franjo Kudjma of Croatia used the public media to undermined the Serbs and make his point to rebel/secede. While on the other side Slobodan Milosevic of Serbia, used the same media to advocate his side and raise turmoil between the two groups (Bosnian Genocide). Two major things the Serbs used to split the groups where streaming media of the Muslims and Croats killing and oppressing Serbs. They also told fellow Serbs to rebel because if they do not, then they will be wiped out by the Muslims extremists. Milosevic also exhumed mass graves of Serbs once murdered by the Ustasa’s (Croatians) during World War II. He did this to bring about more up rising.
The Serbs were relentless for four long years. This time may seem short compared to other genocides, but anytime is a long time, When people are dying. There where over one million Muslims and Croats removed from their homes in the first year. The Serbs did not let up either, they stayed strong till the end; they were on a mission.
